Client Reviews

“I was surprised by how quickly I noticed a difference with the MUNZ Method. After my very first class, I felt more relaxed and more connected to my body. By the end of the session, I experienced greater flexibility and an overall sense of ease in my movements. The changes were subtle yet noticeable, leaving me feeling lighter and more comfortable.

Gio is a wonderful instructor. She is patient, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about the MUNZ Method. She takes the time to explain not only what you're doing, but why it works, which has helped me better understand and appreciate the process. She creates a welcoming environment where questions are always encouraged, and she is generous with her knowledge and support.

I highly recommend both the MUNZ Method and Gio to anyone looking to improve mobility, release tension, and develop a greater sense of connection with their body.”

— Gabrielle Lamb, Dancer, Choreographer, Ilan Lev and Feldenkrais practitioner

“Gio is a wonderful teacher. Her soothing voice, cadence, and personal attention to each student makes me feel held and safe. You can tell she loves teaching Munz.

I started Munz Floor a year ago, and absolutely love this practice! Unfortunately, I suffer from debilitating pain in my joints and connective tissue throughout my body. The Munz Floor weekly class helps me calm my nervous system,  release chronic tension and gripping patterns,  decrease pain along with waking me up to and integrating my whole body.

I am beyond grateful for this brilliant technique and Gio’s passion and expertise. I always feel amazing in my body during and after every class, and most important it is accessible even with all of my physical issues.

Everyone needs Munz!”

— Kathleen S. Hall, Myofascial Release Therapist

“As a professional Pilates teacher, I have added Giovanna Gamma’s Munz Floor class to my practice.  The Munz Floor class has helped unravel tightness in my hips and spine as an older woman.  Its meditative and slow moving session goes beyond the gains that I find in pilates and yoga.”

— Lesley Powell, Pilates teacher and trainer

I was trained and certified in the MUNZ FLOOR® method by MAISON MUNZ, the parent company. Completely accessible to all, MUNZ FLOOR® was created by former Etoile dancer Alexandre Munz, author of the best-selling book 'The Extraordinary Power of Our Fascia in Motion'. Multi awarded by the French and American governments, the MUNZ FLOOR® method is a true international phenomenon.

MUNZ FLOOR®?

Non movers, athletes, dancers, seniors, people living with a disability, MUNZ FLOOR® has brought substantial changes to people’s daily life around the world. What do all those people have deeply in common? Their fascia system. It was declared the 80th organ of the human body in 2018, its well functioning and atypical powers have major impacts on muscle elasticity, intramuscular hydration, with notorious anti-inflammatory effects. MUNZ FLOOR® was created in 2004, that is 14 years ahead of the fascia revolution; it was first known to be a powerful solution against back pain. In fact, its core concept triggers several natural resources ingrained in our fascia and central nervous systems, two control towers of muscle tone and emotions; the resonances are triple: the same movement strategy re-texturizes your fascia system and decompresses your spine, which simultaneously soothing your nervous system. This is something you’ll notice during your first session.

HOW?

Our fascia self-regenerative resource requires 5 movement strategies. Alexandre Munz achieved more than that, his method marries these strategies into one apparent concept that is completely inclusive. Your fascia system needs movement, but not just any: it requires circular spinal forces and counter-forces practiced extraordinarily slowly. Dynamic movements carried out extremely slowly may seem a paradox, in fact this is precisely what explains the simultaneous effects mentioned above, which are why many health professionals have trained in the MUNZ FLOOR® method in Europe.

FASCIA?

This viscous watery material has no beginning and no end, it spreads everywhere under our skin, up to our fibers and our cells. In 2018, the world underwent a 360° shift: after 11 years of international coordinated researches, the scientific community announced that fascia not only provide the mechanical connection between organs, fibers and cells, they play an essential role in the human body’s functioning, in our physical and mental health altogether. Not only do fascia ensure the synergic functioning of our immune, nervous, visceral, hormonal systems, they’re able to self-produce proteins with strong regenerative effects. Hence the expression "fascia revolution", and why scientists call them "matrix".

THERE’S MORE.

Osteopaths know that well: spiral pattern movements are necessary to decompress our vertebrae - MUNZ FLOOR® is 100% based on spiraled movements. Also: when traversed by spiraled forces, our spine uses crossed muscle chains, deep tissue. We move, walk, run, swim, dance, thanks to crossed muscles chains; when those lever muscles are active, they automatically deactivate our straight muscle chains (the surface): this neuromuscular reflex is called the "reciprocal innervation reflex". Let's summarize: with spiral pattern movements practiced extremely slowly, our decompressed spine feels like held from the inside, while we feel more flexible on the outside.

HOW CLASS GOES?

Come in a comfortable outfit of your choice, bare feet is a must otherwise your socks would slip and force you to unnecessary muscle contractions - the floor mat is not mandatory. MUNZ FLOOR® is inseparable from a guidance technique that Alexandre Munz developed for more than 20 years so that participants can remain on their back during the entire class, enjoying the sensations, while at the same time learning the exercises a lot faster through action than when learning them visually. Whether you take an online or in-studio class, my voice will teach you movement paths; learning through action under my lead will also make you feel confident to redo them at home on your own. There’s another asset in this learning experience, it creates a meditative state that people call « dynamic meditation », a feeling of reconnection to the self that I personally find quite profound.
